Community Development

Our community development programme seeks to organize community members into groups and provide them with the knowledge and abilities necessary to bring about change in their neighbourhoods. This programme’s goals include strengthening community relationships, facilitating collaborations with local authorities, assisting locals in finding answers to challenges they face on a regular basis, eradicating poverty, and other disadvantages, and improving social welfare in line with Goal 1 of the SDGs, which calls for an end to poverty in all its manifestations. Our team promotes equality and social inclusion by giving residents of the community the chance to develop new skills and work as a group to accomplish the desired goals of the community.

Self-help groups and community economic development activities are the two key approaches used under this programme. The self-help group approach entails assisting in the formation of support groups by bringing together individuals in comparable circumstances. The main areas of focus of the self-help group approach are agriculture, business, education, fitness, and diet and nutrition. It is designed to ensure that participants gain companionship, identification, emotional support, experiential knowledge, and a sense of belonging.

Our community economic development approach is centered on fostering capacity and promoting the utilization of community resources in ways that improve economic outcomes while enhancing social conditions. We organize financial wellness training and livelihood enhancement initiatives to improve chances for groups that are economically disadvantaged. The community economic development approach is aimed at contributing towards the achievement of SDG 8: Decent work and economic growth.
